You Don’t Necessarily Need a Scholarship

You Don't Necessarily Need a Scholarship In my previous blog I compared falling in love to getting a scholarship. It surely is beautiful and nice, if a love relationship begins with being in love. On the contrary, a love relationship arising from friendship might be easier to handle. Why?

Firstly, if your judgment is not blurred by butterflies in your stomach, you are more likely to choose a life partner that goes well with your personality traits. Consequently the necessity to get a divorce later is diminished.

Secondly, there will be no shock at the end of the infatuation phase, when one is faced with the real person instead the ‘butterflies-in-your-stomach-version’ of the person in question.

Thirdly, you will find it harder to hurt a dear friend than somebody who has just turned real after the so wonderful phase of being in love. Consequently there will be less quarreling.

Since I am trying to burst the classical romance bubble, I may as well do it thoroughly. I would like to contribute my humble opinion about the very popular notion of soul mates, who are supposed to be perfect couples. On the contrary they will find it as hard as any other couple, for a soul mate shares also your flaws not just your virtues.

To sum up the glorified infatuation and all that accompanies the myth of romantic love with no trouble attached goes well together with us, the Westerners, being an instant culture. Selfless effort in a love relationship is not particularly valued in our culture. Instead we look for infatuation that just happens and demands no effort what so ever.

Beware the saying though: ‘No sweat, no glory.’

I would be really grateful for any insights on this topic.

Take care,
Helena Smole

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point.

You clearly know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just
posting videos to your blog when you could
be giving us something informative to read?
