ABOUT ME

I have written a book about achieving mental health ‘Balancing the Beast: A Bright View of Schizoaffective Disorder – Bipolar or Manic-Depressive Type’. My self-help book for people with mental illness is in English and is sold via Amazon.com.

That scared, insecure girl in the picture below, constantly bugged by her schizoaffective disorder – bipolar type, which is a mixture of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, was me. That had been going on for about 14 years until I decided to do something about that scary creature in the picture, representing my mental illness. (The author of the pictures is Leon Zuodar.)

Being afraid of myself

Fear reduction is the key to mastering your mental illness

And what did I do? I scared the s*** out of him!

The kicking-butt attitude

Take the mental-illness-bull by the horns

How did I do that? Read the book.

I abandoned my career as a scientific researcher and decided to dedicate my life to writing. In my first book, Balancing the Beast, I describe how I learned to maintain my mental health. Thereafter, I continued by writing novels. See more info about my first novel in the series: ‘Vivvy and Izzy the dwarf: a series about relationships’. In this novel I dived into the mysteries of a love relationship and took the human emotion under a microscope.

I have also authored over 170 analytical blogs on maintaining one’s emotional and mental balance, which can be read at www.helenasmole.com
